Life of the deprived...

Victims of cruel fate

When I see the unfortunate amputed beings around me I often wonder about the lack of culture inherent in the human society. Invalids and victims of cruel fate left to lead their own lives without any support or helps among the human beings planning their selfish existence elaborately. How hard can we be on other human beings? Are the amputed and severed beings to look after their own lives and fend for their own living??? Are they to drag their brutalized bodies, forget the horrendous incident that butchered them???
There is plenty of culture essential for being a human being. We should always look around and find out situations that require us to act. How terrible is life to amputed and handicapped! While even the robust human beings have difficulty coping with hectic routines every day, how are the innocent and deprived creations of God able to survive? They are left to suffer and cannot even manage the basic activities in life. They remain mere survivors coping with an impossible life depriving them of any comforts or benefits.
While wondering what to do to kill boredom, always look around and support the deprived humble creations of the same great God who created us and the underprivileged alike. We all were in the same track of life pursuing happiness but they suffered from an indiscriminate life and lost their body.
The largest torture to a human being is certainly living with a severed body devoid body parts. It is simply amazing how people leave amputed victims to chase their fate and realise the pain of being invalids without any support.

While travelling in the bus, I was stunned on seeing twice men with amputed arm begging for their living. With his only hand, he is supposed to distribute notes about his condition and receive Rs.10 notes handed to him. Simply after the series of bankruptcy in India, such plight of the poor invalid is worth attention. While people and filthy rich and bankruptcy are becoming largely common, the poor invalid have no life to live and receding their own cruel fate. No one even knows what is the entire plight of succumbing to such fate and torture.

While we search for new pleasures in life, think at least once about deprived persons begging for their lives and living helpless. Thank God for our fortune of complete, happy lives full of moments to cherish rather than suffer…

Celebrating Onam

Onam for new festivities...

Onam is round the corner and there is plenty to decide… finding new clothes, buying grocery for the Onam feast, arranging crackers and more flurry of activities that the harvest festival in Kerala is engaging the natives in. Come the month of September and the natives in Kerala are busy planning for the famous harvest festival in the green country. Onam is a totally green festival from the large green banana leaf serving the vegan delicacies to the copious amount of flowers decorating the entrances of the homes.

Women are clad in new clothes, and decorate their hair with large bunches of jasmine flowers tethered in garlands to give them a faint aroma and diffuse their washed hairs. They shop beautiful sarees for the festival and drape themselves in the golden and cream sarees special to the harvest occasion.

Onam is among the oldest festivals in the world celebrated to welcome the legendary king, Mahabali. The benevolent king was sent to abyss by the wicked Vamana who was jealous of the popularity of the magnanimous King Mahabali. Finally, Mahabali pleaded one last wish which was to visit his people during Onam. From the harvest festival and the welcome to the King, Onam is already become the integral part of the lives and culture of the Keralities. Even while their lifestyle is changing, families now get together to celebrate the festival denoting their rich culture and ample heritage. They forget their financial constraints and celebrate the festival .This splendid festival unites the Keralities unanimously in a singular spirit, simplicity to flaunt their rich culture and ample heritage.

Are you a lazy Christian??!!

Become an active christian

Now we have no more time to even flip through the pages of the Bible. We are too excited with our frivolous lives to carefully understand the scriptures. I recently found a way to understand the Bible and also to utilize my time while travelling in the bus. I carry a little Bible gifted by my friend and read it carefully as I ply daily to the office. Now I can easily spend my time and become informed on the words of God. There are plenty of ways to understand the Bible and become active Christians.

·         Firstly, develop a habit to spend time every day to read the Bible.
To start with, you can simply flip through the pages of the Bible. You can start reading it while choosing your favourite books of the Bible. Many people love to read the New Testament especially while it is full of the dynamic presence and miracles of our Lord, Jesus Christ. They follow the story of Jesus from birth to crucifixion. I simply love the book, Acts of Apostles. I enjoy following the brave and dynamic involvement of the Apostles in preaching Christianity across the globe.
·         Try to understand the new testament
The New Testament is easy to read and understand. Most Christians simple love to read through the New Testament full of the teachings and miracles of our Lord Jesus Christ. Even as a child, I was eager to find out maximum information on the life and perils of Jesus. I used to read the New Testament from a simple version of the Bible and soon mastered it.
·         Choose a simple version of the Bible.
This is a very simple tip. While there are plenty of different versions of the Bible available, choose a simple version such as Good New Bible, Gideon’s Bible to read easily and grasp quickly.
·         Practice the teaching and virtues imparted by our Lord Jesus.
Abide by the 10 commandments and preaching to become true Christians and improve your conduct or deeds.
·
    Listen to sermons carefully.
As an orthodox Christian, I am fortunate to benefit from excellent sermons often delivered by our reverent bishops. This helps me to gain profound knowledge in Bible and understand it easily. While attending the church, carefully listen to the sermons. Understand the preaching and note the references. Choose these chapters for reference during the evening prayers. During the prayer time, read aloud the reference chapters and understand them. This improves your understanding of the Bible.
Now you are ready to be transformed from the lazy Christian to an active Christian! Let us take forward the legacy of our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ and be dynamic Christians.
